Our Trip To Maui (2018)--Day 17
5/21/2018

Not much was going on today. Last night's cocktail cruise was our final paid activity of the trip. We took off and visited a couple beaches north of Lahaina (Hanaka`o`o and Wahikuli) before visiting the Jodo Mission in town. There was a large crowd at nearby Baby Beach and after getting some pictures, we stopped and chatted with a couple locals, where the topic turned to moving to Maui. One of them seemed to think a good idea would be to purchase a condo, rent it out for eleven months of the year, and then stay there on the 12th month. He seemed to think this would be fairly easy to do (assuming one could get the financing for such a purchase in the first place), but but I wondered, if it was easy, why aren't more people doing this and why do so many get tired of the hassle of ownership and sell at a later point?

Patty and I decided to skip the other beaches on the west side and instead drove down to Wailea to see our wedding site near the Four Seasons hotel. This is always a fun stop for us, full of nostalgia. After this stop, we headed north to Kahului and found Bridgit & Bernard's Cafe. The food here was very good, but it was compromised a good deal when I found a hair in my Chicken Cordon Bleu! The atmosphere here is adequate, as is the service, functional but not overly friendly. But that hair.....I should have said something.

A nice sunset, probably our best one, was captured from the balcony with my Nikon. While Patty heads over to Baker Street and an Alanon meeting, I hung out in the room for the rest of the evening.
