Yesterday I over-indulged on food, taking in over 3,000 calories. Today I paid the price, and set a few new marks; longest ride (35 miles), longest time (2:15:00), most calories burned (1,639).
I broke the ride into three segments--I rode 12.5 miles, took a quick break, rode another 12.5 miles, took a break, and then rode the final 10 miles. This worked out well and was similar to how I do longer rides when outdoors, taking breaks every 10-15 miles to get the heart rate back to normal before taking off again.
On that note (heart rate), my recovery time is getting much quicker, only taking a couple minutes to get my heart rate from 140-150 down to 80-90. This is a sign of improving cardiac health, no doubt.
I've now rode over 500 miles on the Kinetic!
How am I doing on reaching this month's goal of 400 miles? I have 169 miles in 11 days, 22.3 miles ahead of the pace I need to achieve this goal.
Today's stats: 35 miles rode, 2:15:00 time, avg. speed 15.56, 1,639 calories burned, avg. heart rate 136, max heart rate 151, 12.14 calories per minute, 46.83 calories per mile.
Year-to-date: 27 rides, 526.15 miles, 34.25 hrs rode, 25,572 calories burned, avg. speed 15.36 mph.
